Monday, February 13th, 2012Before putting on the stickers you first need to clean the area using water and a cleaner designed for car paints. A mild cleanser or a clay bar is important if you want to restore the outside finish since it can revives the paint’s original luster.
Make sure the exterior is completely dry before peeling off the sticker. Gently smooth down the surface to get rid of air bubbles while peeling away the back cover of the sticker. It is usually recommended to apply the stickers during sunny day since they are extra elastic when warm. Make sure to attach the entire sticker before cutting the excess or curving the door handles, cutting it while on the process of attaching the sticker will create peculiar lines that could entirely spoil your design. 
When removing previous stickers make sure that the sticker is warm (a warm sticker is more flexible) before peeling off the edge to avoid cracking and tearing during the process. Sometimes old stickers are harder to remove so be careful when peeling them, you can use a blow-dryer to warm the surface or put the car in the sun for a while before removing them.
For more complex designed stickers especially those that require multiple layers to form the pattern it’s important to ask the help of a professional instead of doing this by yourself. Badly attached stickers can ruin the overall style of your car making it look cheap and amateur. The same advice goes to large stickers since they are harder to apply.
